Luckily, there are plenty of fun things to do indoors in Howard County, Maryland!
- This Saturday, the Columbia Orchestra kicks off their season with a violin concerto by Brahms and Schumann’s Romantic Symphony. Go here for ticket information.
- On both Saturday and Sunday, you can visit the Horowitz Center at Howard Community College and enjoy a one man comedy musical revue by HCC alum Jason Downs as he recounts his musical journey in “Why Am I Not Famous?”. Go here for more info.
- Now through November 9, Toby’s Dinner Theatre is running Memphis: The Musical, the 2010 Tony Award winner for Best Musical. Go here for more info.
If we are lucky enough to get some breaks in the clouds this weekend, Sharp’s Farm is having a Pumpkin Festival, and Historic Ellicott City is having their second annual Art Walk.
And remember, it’s Choose Civility week here in Howard County, so there are lots of programs going on to promote civility, including “The Ball’s in Your Court: Can Civility and Sports Co-Exist?”, a discussion and book signing featuring former Baltimore Colt Joe Ehrmann and sports psychologist Amanda Visek.
Now for the really good stuff – candy corn.
The Pat Hiban Real Estate Group is having a candy counting contest! I personally counted a HUGE amount of candy corn and put it into a HUGE jar that is sitting on the front desk at our office.
To enter the contest, submit your name, email address, and guess to email@example.com. One entry per person/household/email address. We’re running the contest through Halloween.
The winner gets a $250 gift card to King’s Contrivance restaurant – that’s pretty cool, huh?
